Mesmerising Kashmir

Day 1

Upon arrival reception at airport and then transfer to hotel. If possible proceed to Sonamarag for overnight stay where you can enjoy in the nature. Srinagar to Sonamarag 2 to 3 hours.

Day 2

Srinagar/Sonamarag - Kargil via Sonamarag - Zojila pass - Drass

Srinagar/Sonamarag to Kargil via Sonamarag, Zojila pass and war memorial museum Drass. Upon arrival in Kargil transfer to hotel and in the evening excursion to Hundeman where you can see Pakistani army post which is 2 kilometres away from the village Hundeman.

Day 3

Kargil - Suru Valley - Rangdu - Sankoo - Kartse Chamba(Maitreya Buddha) - Nun and Kun

Kargil to Rangdum. After breakfast proceed towards Suru Valley which starts just after Kargil, after 45 kilometres away from Kargil you will reach Sankoo which is the main town of Suru Valley. At Sankoo take diversion to reach Kartse Chamba(Maitreya Buddha) which date back to 7th century. There are many snow clad mountains on the way but main peaks are Nun and Kun which dominate the valley.

Day 4

Rangdum - Penzila pass - Drang Drung glacier - Padum - isolated monastery called Zungkhul, tranquil valley

Rangdum to Padum. After 26 kilometres from Rangdum you will reach Penzila pass(4401 metres) which is the highest point between kargil Zanskar and more intersting is that you can see Drang Drung glacier which is the biggest glacier in Ladakh after Siachen. Before reaching Padum you can also visit isolated monastery called Zungkhul which is located in a tranquil valley.

Day 5

Zanskar - Padum

Sightseeing in Zanskar. Including Karsha the largest monastery in Zanskar, the monastery is belongs to gelugpa which incumbent is Nari Rinpoche and he is Dalai Lama's younger brother, Stakrimo which was king of Padum shrine room and later on it was converted to monastic tradition and it is come under Bardan monastery and it is butanase style of Drukpa kagyud pa sect and Pipiting Overnight in Padum.

Day 6

Zanskar

Free day in Zanskar for individual activity.

Day 7

Stongdey monastery - Tsazar or Zangla

Visit Stongdey monastery and Zangla palace where famous Hungarian scholar Coma de Cros spent one year in the beginning of 1830s to study Tibetan, and later on he wrote the first Tibetan-English dictionary. Overnight in Tsazar or Zangla

Day 8

Tsazar or Zangla - Lamayouru via Lingshed, singeyla pass - sirsir la - Lamayouru

Tsazar or Zangla to Lamayouru via Lingshed, singeyla pass and sirsir la and Lamayouru. Overnight stay in Lamayouru.

Day 9

Lamayouru - Leh - Basgo palace, sangam - Pathar Sahib

Lamayouru to Leh. On the way visit Alchi the oldest monastery in Ladakh which date back to 10 the century and the painting is in ghandara style. It was built by Lotsava Rinchen Zangpo and he brought 32 artist from Kashmir to build the monastery. Subsequently visit Basgo palace, sangam where Indus and Zanskar meet, magnetic hill and Pathar Sahib.

Day 10

Shey palace - Thiksay - Potala Place - Hemis

Visit Shey palace, Thiksay monastery which is resembles to Potala palace inin Lhasa Tibet, Hemis the largest monastery in Ladakh and Stok palcae which is royal family's resident.

Day 11

Free day in Leh for shopping and individual activity.

Day 12

Leh - Khardunga la - Disket Monastery - Hunder sand dunes

Leh to Nubra via Khardung la, visit Disket monastery and Hunder sand dunes.

Day 13

Shayok river - Turtuk - Disket

Visit the last village towards western frontier where some villages are perched on the bank of Shayok river, the main village is Turtuk, the hamlets along with Turtuk were part of Pakistan until 1971, now it is come under India thank to great warrior Rinchen from Nubra who lead the army and regain this part. Come back to Disket for overnight stay.

Day 14

Disket/Hunder - Shayok - Pangong

Disket/Hunder to Pangong via Shayok. Overnight in Man village which is located bank of the Lake.

Day 15

Tsomoriri - Tsaga la - Nyoma - Mahe bridge

Drive to Tsomoriri via Tsaga la and Nyoma and Mahe bridge. There are many wildlife that you can spot on this day like Kiyang (Tibetan wild donkey), Marmot and other species like birds.

Day 16

Tsomoriri - Jispa

Tsomoriri to Jispa via Tsokar Lake, Sarchu, and Baralacha la pass in Jispa. On this day you have chance to see Changa Nomad on the way between Tsokar Lake and Spang, the changpa Nomad rear pashmina goats in abundance.

Day 17

Jispa - Atal Tunnel - Manali

Jispa to Manali drop via Atal tunnel.
